Santori is charming and uncrowded. We talked about spending a week here, unwinding. White houses, blue roofs, an occasional windmill. A great winery overlooking the valley with complimentary tasting and cheese and olives. Enjoyed the small village we walked through and shopping in Fira. The cablecard ride down the cliff was impressive, as well.

join a excrusion and it will bring you from the port up the hill and to Oia. This is one of the most beautiful town in this Greece island. The tour will end at the top of the hill and you will need to line up over an hour to take the cable car. Or you can ride the donkey down for 6 euros and walk down 20 min

Cold and windy day today ☹️. Still had a wonderful time. Took ship tender to old port and found two companies that offer speed boat trip (15eu pp) to Ammoudi port and bus ride to Oia, then final bus ride to Fira where cable cars are. Cable cars down is preferred method (6eu pp) as donkey use is inhumanly and disgusting. Walking seemed ok, from above but warned it could be slippery. Oia is the picture place, had local lunch gyros and beers 🍻. Bus transfer to Fira was every hour on the hour till 1500hrs. I guess to ensure you make it back to ship tender on time. We didn’t spend much time in Fira, it was extremely crowded like lil Venice on Mykonos. Wonderful Times 🇬🇷😘

Oia (the town with all the blue and white buildings) is actually a bit far to get to. Take advantage of the services offered locally from local vendors offering a speed boat trip or bus tour to get there, otherwise it can be a little challenging. Don't go too early in the morning, there is absolutely nothing open and not much to do!

The boat is at open sea and you have to take a small boat to get ashore. You should get ticket A or B to be in the first group who go out. The ticket was available in the piano bar but you should check when.

I really enjoyed this port. It has a unique landscape. We were fortunate we were the only ship at this port as this is a tender port and a small island so it can be overwhelming from large numbers of tourists and compact narrow streets. I took the tour offered by Princess "Oia, Fira, Winery & Pre Historic Museum". I highly recommend this tour. It was informative and lots to see. It included lunch at local restaurant which I enjoyed

On the day I was here there were both an RCL (my boat) and a MSC in port and we had to tender back and forth. We got off the boat around 2:30 and got to the port around 3:15. We waited in a fairly large crowded lower area in line for the incline for about an hour. Yes it was hot and crowded and long but overall the experience wasn’t awful! We finally got up to the main town which was also crowded but manageable. My family walked around for awhile, went in some shops, took some photos and overall had a great time. By 5:30 the crowd/line for the incline down had completely disappeared. We got right on and then was able to get immediately back on a tender back to the boat. I’m sure other experiences from others weren’t this smooth but it’s certainly worth waiting in the lines and getting the chance to walk around!
