Santorini is very crowded, it is difficult to get there and the ship stays there only for a few hours.

Another absolutely beautiful port. I was concerned because of reviews I’ve seen about the crowds here, we were very fortunate as there was only one other ship in port that day.

After tender, consider taking the boat around the island that meets-up with a coach that takes you to the exact spot as the cable-car. Cable car lines are 1 to 1-1/2 hours which leaves little time at the top. The coach option not only get you there quicker, but you get to see the other part of the island. I think boat/coach option is 20 Euros.

We took the Village of Oia excursion. Admittedly, Santorini was one of the major pulls for this trip. Many cruises we had looked at surprisingly didn't stop in Santorini. It is as wonderful and picturesque as you might imagine and we had the perfect weather for it as well. However, while the excursion brought us to the most picturesque area of the island, Oia, it stopped at the winery which wasn't as interesting. It certainly had beautiful views. I wish that this excursion was longer so that we could have more time to have experienced more of Oia. I have no complaints about our guide who was fantastic and very informative, it just all felt so rushed.

Beautiful beautiful. We took a boat ride to Oia. Lots of shopping, eating and views. We were transferred back to Santorini for more shopping and eating and more sights. We took the tram down to where we caught the boat to Oia and had lunch seaside. We didn't do an excursion.

You just can't get enough of this place. Take the cable car up to Fira, then take the public bus to Oia (so much cheaper than a taxi or private car). The views from Oia are simply stunning. Get a restaurant with a view!

What an amazing island with quite a story. Took the tender in and took the tram to the tour location. Was warned not to ride smelly donkeys. Did the American Airlines tour (not ship-sponsored tour) "Private Panoramic Santorini" and had a wonderful and private experience, hosted by the great Marcos. So we went the smart routes around and through the island; didn't get stopped by bus traffic. Felt like we were visiting a cousin!
