Completely unnecessary. Ephesus was okay, but the Turkish salesmen are horrible once you leave the ruins. They won't leave you alone. Our excursion was a half-day self-guided walk around Ephesus. However, at the end, the tour guide took us to a rug shop where we were taken upstairs to a room with 5 or 6 Turkish men who did a demonstration of the rug making and made a HUGE sales pitch. We felt trapped because they shut the door. Once we got out, we had to go through the jewelry shop downstairs where the salesmen there were hard to get away from also. We then had to walk through a "mall" area in order to get back to the ship. We did not sign-up for the rug presentation and were extremely disappointed in the experience. Don't waste your time in this port. We certainly will never return to Turkey.

Lots of history, but our tour guide talked too much.

Cruise staff made us disembark at this port as my husband tested positive for COVID. They put us up in a terrible hotel with non-functioning AC & terrible food. The port agent was untrustworthy & not truthful in what he was telling us & what he was telling the ship staff. One of the most worst experiences of our lives!!

Ephasis was the place to see. Watch out for guides wanting to take you to their favorite shops where they charge a fortune and the guides make a percentage. Again we took a private tour and were not very pleased with our guide regarding the tourist traps he tried to take us to.

Ephesus....is definitely the best thing but unfortunately the shopping experience in Kusadasi is EXTREMELY stressful and NOT worth it. It's almost abusive in that if you even glance at a shop or an item, the salesmen go right after you. I couldn't wait to get back on the ship.

presented the tour to my parents. They were so happy about all I recommend VIP Tours! The guide was perfect and perfectly speaking Italian. The car was on time. So everything was just excellent. They chose the right name :-)
