A: We only buy in St Thomas or on the ship. Keep in mind they both are duty free.
Answered by sopha on November 5, 2024
A: I would buy it on the Ship in Effy. It’s guaranteed. If anything happens to it they will fix it.
Answered by Bigmoma on November 4, 2024
A: mostly junk from what I saw. you'll find better quality and prices on st. tjomas and/or st. maarten.
Answered by jcb91777 on November 4, 2024
A: Buy jewelry at a trusted jewelry store close to home. All of these jewelry stores at the ports are corporate owned. They’re not giving you a deal. You also have no recourse if you have a problem with the jewelry once you get home.
Answered by jpmato16 on November 4, 2024
A: I would not recommend buying in Nassau. I strongly recommend Ballarina Jewelers in St. Maarten.
Answered by RoyalCruzer on November 17, 2024
A: I agree with the person who said to wait until are in Saint Maarten on the Dutch side. People come from all over the world to buy their jewelry there. The Netherlands jewelers are known to be respected honest and well documented gemologists.

Answered by Bambinos on August 28, 2024
A: After the pandemic reopening, the new owners of Atlantis went to an all access day pass only, in lieu of having separate levels of passes for beach, aquarium, and waterpark. You can still see a small portion of the aquarium from the main lobby, as we... ll as eat, shop, and gamble at the resort. without a day pass.See More

A: wow, thanks maryred. I was unaware that the Atlantis had new owners. Seems like they are missing out on alot of extra revenue, I have been many times and only wanted to do the aquariums, not the water park. I personally would not pay the higher pr... ice for the day pass, as I would not use the Waterpark.See More

A: See what your credit cards offer for their "travel concierge" benefits (if you have those benefits). Sometimes they can find better deals than what's listed online. They have connections with some resorts and hopefully can help you out. American... Express Platinum is one such credit card that has those benefits. But there's others, so check if any of your cards have those perks.🤞 Good luck to you.See More

A: There are some good videos on YouTube of self guided walking tours in Nassau. Check out The Weekend Cruiser, he has tons of videos on Nassau.

A: it's not that far from the port. a lot of people are going to tell you it's not safe...while sometimes that's true. it mostly isn't. if you're from the USA specifically most cities. you'll find it's not any more dangerous than that.
Answered by Xasmar on July 13, 2024
A: Really not safe to walk around past the port. Queens staircase you should really go with a guide. In top there’s a bunch of little vendors and when we went the guide had to lock the doors of the van with the people who stayed back while the others... shopped. He said that they would get robbed So make sure you know the neighborhood well. Atlantis is about 20 mins away. I would t walk there. Take an excursionSee More

Q: Hello, has anyone who has been in Nassau lately walked from the ship through the new port shopping area to senor frogs but walked along the new water walkway? we do not want to walk in the street. We are wondering if if we can walk along the water to get to senor frogs? it looks like there is a new walkway along the water?

A: we were there in December. you can go most of the way inside the Cruise Terminal fenced off area. But you have to walk to the street for about 1/4 mile. There's no other way to my knowledge.

A: We just watched a YouTube video that was 9 days old where he walked all the way down that way inside the new port area. He went to the straw market and said Senior Frogs was a block down. Looked quite safe from his videos. The main crime by the ports... would be pick pockets and pushy vendors. The more serious stuff is in another part of town.See More
Answered by Stacrio on February 25, 2024
A: When we were there a few months ago, you could walk through the new shopping area and then out the gate kind of down by there.

A: @stacrio , is there any way to share the YouTube video with me?
Answered by CaBaDavis on February 25, 2024
A: I’ve seen great reviews for “Sonia’s Jerk”, which is just a walk-up stand with some picnic tables around. It’s just to the right of the actual Fish Fry restaurants. There’s a small beach area in front. I’ve tried to go there twice, but it was either... too early (11am), or it had flooded in the area, so she was closed. Pretty sure she normally opens around 2pm. ** As for reported violence in Nassau, I was just there a couple weeks ago. (solo female) Felt safe, as I always do. [you would never leave your own house if you were trying to steer clear of violence in the area!!]See More
Answered by NeedToVacation on February 17, 2024
A: you can take the #10 bus for $1.25 ,each way to the fish fry. Pick up the bus outside the port on a side street just before straw market
Answered by redheadcru1ser on February 14, 2024
A: Definitely try out the fish fry area. There are multiple local restaurants in one place. You can walk there but it's a long walk. I suggest taking a cab and telling them you want to go to the fish fry. Once there walk around to see which one you want... to try. I've tried three different restaurants and enjoyed all three. Hope this helps!See More

Q: We went on an excursion many years ago to Atlantis and toured the aquariums. Loved it! I can’t seem to find any information about touring just the aquariums. They have a day pass but it includes the water park which we aren’t interested in. Does anyone know if we can tour just the aquarium without getting a full day pass that includes the water park?? Please let me know!

A: New owners took possession of the resort just prior to Covid shut down.Day passes are now an all or nothing but main lobby and casino access. If you want to visit The Dig beyond the teaser portion in main lobby you need the full access pass. Same for... beach/pool or aminal interaction access.See More

A: Unfortunately off the beach snorkeling from New Providence/Paradise Islands is best described as underwhelming. 75 + yrs of not knowing the harm sun oils/sunscreens were to the environment caused most coral, kelp, & seagrass to die off, so not much t... o attract the fish anymore. For decent snorkeling you need to do so further out by boat or go to 1 of the private beach resorts at 1 of the nearby cays.See More

A: Depends on what time of the year you go. Even the locals won't go snorkeling in the winter months as the water is too cold.

Answered by NeedToVacation on December 13, 2023
A: If you are really fit you could walk there in about 40 minutes (it's under 2 miles), but I wouldn't recommend it as portions of the route do not have a sidewalk or shoulder area to keep you away from the road proper.

A: Your might be best to first look at excursions your ship is offering for “day passes” at certain resorts. Many resorts offer day passes, that’s the only way you’re going to get a clean beach and possibly an umbrella. Just be careful, lots of scams on... all of the islands. That’s why I said check the cruise line first.See More

A: Never seen any of the 4 cruise line we sail regularly offer deep sea fishing at this port. You will need to book privately, so try Blue Water Sports first as I know they have a shipping license if you want to keep your catch and send it home for late... r consumption. If just looking for trophy photos there are many private boat owners that do catch and release.See More

A: I did the VIP Adults Only in May and loved it. It gives you access to a separate area of the island and local buffet food. No lines since it's not many people in the adults only area. There are also a few staff that are your concierge and can get you... anything you want, all included.See More

Answered by RMT226 on August 25, 2023
A: Considering there's not much going for Nassau, I thought it was a good excursion. Mrs. Jallaway didnt really like it. The adults area is just a section of the greenish lagoon and you will likely see kiddies jumping around about 50 yards away. The... lagoon is also surrounded by vegetation which drop some leaves and debris. So it's not a pristine beach experience.See More

A: We are going to Nassau for the first time next week. We decided on a dolphin encounter and it includes Blue Lagoon access. It looks like there are a number of excursions to that beach — not sure if paying for the adult only “upgrade” gets you a less... crowded area? You can search Google for cruise ship tracker and see how many ships will be in port the day you’re there. I think there are only 2 ships the day we’re there, so I don’t anticipate it being crowded. Best of luck! 🤩See More
