Jamaica says one price, pay another- even with Carnival excursions 🤷. Paid $25 for hop on/off and the driver of the bus said it costs more and then we were stuck in traffic for 2+ of the 6 hours on shore- which was out of the drivers controls

We were originally supposed to dock in Ocho Rios but the itinerary was changed a couple months prior to our trip. Because our kids were younger, we were looking for beach type excursions and all were 1-1.5 hours in transfers EACH WAY for a total of 2-3 hours max on the beach. We stayed on the ship.

I found this port to be disapppinting. Best solution would be to have a ncl excursion. We had canceled our catamaran due to weather concerns and picked the spa. We got off the ship but it was in an ugly warehouse port area with nothing. Many passengers got scammed by local taxi drivers and shuttles.

We did the Appleton Rum Tour. Only excursion I've ever been on where they made us wait on an uncomfortable crowded bus for over 30 minutes for passengers that were late. Would not have been so bad if we did not also have a 2.5 hour bus ride to get to Appleton. The Distillery was beautiful, the tour interesting, and the food they served us was delicious.

Montego Bay was disappointing. The area felt dirty and unsafe, which made it difficult to enjoy the port. We would hesitate to return.
