Montego Bay, Jamaica Port Reviews

was crazy to have to walk to outside the port to meet with planned excursion, that was not thru carnival.

We went to Harmony Beach state park and loved it. Great beach, no entry fee, and not too many people.

Very nice port with free beach attached.

1st time we booked an excursion on our own. It had many good reviews, however, I think it was restricted due to the COVID restart. Spend a lot of time on the bus driving through the city and they could not get parking to stop. We did enjoy jerk chicken and the beach.

Stayed close to the Port, there were signs about COVID prevention everywhere. It appears the cure there is Rum, most people are afraid of the injections!

We did the hop on hop off tour!! It was very entertaining and informative

Did the hop on/hop off excursion - which included 4 stops. First stop was to a shopping area where maybe 1/3 of the shops were open. The second stop was to a beach - where we weren't told there was a CHARGE to access the beach. Totally disappointed in that. We left and went to Margaritaville to eat (3rd stop). 4th was to more local shops where you're hounded by locals to buy their trinket crap. Will never go back to Montego Bay EVER. Dirty and just not what we expected.

Port was great Jamaica really entertains, however if you use your card to purchase any items be aware of the high taxes they will charge you (it's ridiculous!) Best to have cash but be careful, vendors are pushy and you have to tip for pretty much everything. Also, the roads are rough so be prepare for the fastest, bumbiest, and somewhat scary ride you ever been experienced on a bus. You will probably need some Tylenol at the end of the day.
