I would like to review 2 things here as I’ve now been here twice. My first time here we stayed in the port. The port here has been my favorite so far. First of all, they have a HUGE pool. It’s free to use as well, so score! The one thing I dislike about cruising so far is that the pools are way too small to accommodate guests. This pool was a welcome retreat after getting off the ship (much like the pool in Belize!) There is also a convenient bar right next to the pool. You’re paying extra for booze, but 1. You’re on vacation & 2. You’re helping out an economy that could use it! The entertainment was so nice! There were entertainers everywhere either playing music, shuffling up that giant totem pole, or taking pictures with everyone. Tip generously. They really go the extra mile. The shops and areas were so thoughtfully decorated, which I didn’t notice my first time, but wish I would’ve since I had less time in port the second time. If you’re not planning any excursions, definitely check everything out! Our second time in port, we had a planned excursion to Jamie’s Blue Reef Beach Club. I honestly cannot dawn over this place enough. It. Is. Amazing. Amazing to the point that we’re thinking of just booking a few nights stay here. We took a quick and cheap cab ride there and had a staff member waiting outside for our arrival. $50 a person for all you can eat and drink. You get a designated seating area, tables, and access to their private beach. The staff is beyond attentive. Literally, we’d be just finished with our drink and they’d bring us a new one! The guacamole was the best any of us had ever had! The owner, Jamie, introduced himself and he was just as nice as could be! The Blue Reef Bar/Restaurant is right across from the beach. The staff is amazing and the restrooms were clean. No, you can’t flush TP, but it wasn’t a problem for us as they kept the restrooms immaculate. Jamie’s is truly a gem and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I almost don’t want to because I want to be able to get a spot there next time lol! The best $50 we spent on the cruise or in general. Period. Just perfection!

It was our first time here and it was absolutely beautiful, the water was so clear blue. We just walked around the port which was nice with a lot of shops and a nice pool area with a swim up bar and a sandy area with beach chairs. Will do this cruise again & actually do an excursion next time!

Unfortunately due to the seaweed issues here, we cancelled our trip to Maya Chan. But the good news is the port is very cool. We had never been there before and while we were the only ship in port, we had plenty of food, drink, and beautiful weather. Lots to do right there…dolphin swims, play in the sand or swim to the swim up bar. I would really like to go back some day.

Always one of my favorites. Get out of the port and go downtown. $15 for an hour long massage. Great deals on shopping. Beautiful place to snorkel and scuba dive

Lots of shopping opportunity and a huge pool right at the port with restaurants and activities. We did the golf carts? I recommend sticking to the map and paying attention to the street signs because people will lie and say that’s where your suppose to be and flag you down and it’s not where your suppose to be. Trust no one.

I wish Royal Caribbean would stop at more ports where there is a beach within walking distance. I really get tired of spending so much money on taxis to and from. It adds up quick!! However, once getting to the town and beach, I was very pleased. The people were very nice and took me to a shaded table right on the beach. I sat down, ordered a very reasonably priced drink, and enjoyed the day!! Oh, and I almost forgot, my taxi driver asked me if I was interested in meeting some nice “Mexican Boys”. Lol... I told him no thank you that I was married and had raised 3 boys, although not Mexican. I didn’t need or want anymore boys or men for that matter 😂🤪😂

This was my second favorite port. While there is next to nothing to do at this port, we were only there until 1, so not a lot of time to kill. We stayed in the area right off the ship where all the shopping and eating was located. There is a aviary there that cost $12 per person and that was so much fun. There was chocolate to try and tequila tasting. We ordered a huge bowl of nachos that were delicious. Another passenger we talked to that same day, said they walked right outside the gate and there were people there ready to take you on any excursion, so they took a snorkeling excursion that they described as amazing. If I ever end up at this port, I will definitely do this. But for my first time, walking around the immediate tourist area was just fine.
