Much more "down-to-earth" and less touristy a place than Nassau, Freeport is highly industrial. We went on an excursion with Shore Excursions Group to Crystal Beach, Dead Man's Reef for swimming and snorkeling. We swam, played volleyball, hiked the beach, and drank Goombay Smashes--- it was WONDERFUL and the staff at the beach bar were attentive. I found myself VERY close to a manta ray in the water, but it swam away from me. THERE WERE MANY SAND FLEAS THERE! My daughter and I got "eaten alive" in the 3.5 hours that we were there. Even today, 7 days later, I'm still itching from them and the bites are showing. I'm trying to avoid scratching to promote healing. The terrific lady who drove us there was very communicative and interested to tell us about the island. I very much enjoyed talking with her. Also, the taxi drivers who returned us to the ship were superb! They were proud to tell us about Grand Bahama and Freeport, and we "counted churches" together, as we drove along the route from the beach back to the port. There is an extraordinarily high concentration of churches there for the number of residents. They also talked about the local custom of the family gathering for dinner and festivities on Sundays - lovely!

Rico’s Powerboat Beach Party was one of the best excursions I’ve been on!! Rico and Elvis hooked us up with great drinks and food and entertainment. He also had soft drinks for my daughter. I would highly recommend going with them it was amazing!!!

We did the Beach Party with drinks unlimited. It was a great beach with many activities at a low price. Met amazing people. Went April 2017. The workers were very nice and they kept you entertained. The excursion is definitely worth it!

I had no plans of visiting the island, except to get my passport stamped and maybe get free wifi. I planned on a quick off and on, as I was looking forward to a ship with less people on it. We walked across the shopping area and a bit toward a fenced area, by a security gated area. It was just to the left of it. Stamp was free this time. Wanted to find free wifi and decided to try Senor Frogs. It didn't open until 10 so we shopped a little. I didn't buy anything but some of us did and was happy with their purchases from the locals. Went in to Senor Frogs and ordered sodas, didn't want to just use their free wifi. Their wifi was AWFUL, barely able to connect to anything. We decided to pay our tab and go back to the ship. I was quite upset at the cost for 2 sodas, $9.23!!! I found the manager and complained. He went and reset the wifi - bingo! It worked great, got a chance to video call home. Halfway through the call the music started to play. I had to cut the call short but was satisfied with the connection. We were about to leave when they called for a conga line, who could deny this, lol. The line went around the large bar area. There was 3 areas around the bar where they were squirting shots in our mouths, lol. It was so much fun!! A couple in our group left earlier because of the bad connection, they were upset to miss all the action.
