WONDERFUL port, close by and everyone is nice and helpful. We took the mini bus ($7 per person each way) to Horseshoe Bay for the day. Rented chairs and an umbrella and spent a beautiful day relaxing and exploring. If you go walk left between the rocks, amazing views! Day 2 in port we booked our own excursion with Native Sons catamaran tours, the guys were great, knowledgeable and really fun. Fresh baked cookies and Rum Swizzles are complimentary and soooo good!

Walk off the ship and take a mini bus to horseshoe bay. They won’t leave until their full but chances are you’re getting off the boat with hundreds of people. They’ll fill up in five minutes. They pack you in but carnival cruisers are fun. They Made it into a party. When you get to the beach, you can rent chairs and umbrellas. It is hot in the summer!!! They will carry the stuff relatively far for you so you don’t have to be in the crowd If you can handle a little walk, go to the left behind the rocks. There’s a whole other beach there with caves and coves you can set up in. The water down there is amazing.

Plenty of taxis to take you to Horseshoe Bay Beach. A group taxi is reasonably priced at $7 pp, each way. Horseshoe Bay is a beautiful, world famous beach. It has full facilities—bathrooms, changing rooms, showers, and rental of chairs and umbrellas as well as an informal, outdoor beach restaurant.

I’m new to cruise critic, or I would have posted this review a few years ago, when we took our actual cruise. (2013) I honestly can say that this was the most relaxing cruise I have ever been on! We had time at sea to get acquainted with the ship before spending 3 days on the island. I had done a lot of research prior and knew of the places we wanted to visit. When we got there, we bought a 3 day pass for the public bus and water taxi, which was around $18 per person I think. We got on the bus and took it from one side of the island to the other. When we saw something we wanted to explore, we got off, looked around, and caught the next bus to another destination. We kept a bus schedule with us so we knew when the last bus was and wouldn’t miss out on getting back to the boat for dinner. We came back to the boat for lunch and a nap, and went back out again. We also asked the bus drivers for some recommendations and one of them dropped us off at a little spot where we had an entire beach all to ourselves! It was fabulous. Stopped to see the lighthouse, horseshoe beach, did some shopping, saw some re-enactments, sat on the beach and played in the water A LOT. I will definitely consider another trip here. And for the beginning of October, we had absolutely perfect weather.
