We enjoyed Juneau. A busy little town with a younger age (20’s-30’s) population. For our excursion we did the Mendenhall Glacier and Salmon bake. The glacier was just another glacier. If you’ve been to Hubbard and glacier Bay I probably would skip it if I had to do over. But the Salmon Bake was wonderful and better then expected.

Beautiful port!!! Went to Mendenhall Glacier and whale watching through a tour that we booked when we got to port, both were fantastic. Walked around and did some shopping and ate at Tracy’s Crab Shack which was amazing!!!

Did a whale watching combined with salmon bake. Whale watch was astounding!!! We had a whale spy hop and was "watching" us!!! The salmon bake was okay, but bring your sense of humor. Food, including salmon, was from CostCo in Juneau. And the entertainer was a bit muffed everyone wasn't tipping as much as he liked. All good, even though my hubby and I went to the buffet when we returned to the Legend. (Food was better onboard the Legend)

Lovely town. Make sure to stop at the tourist information booth for an overview of this town. Forget about booking any flight excursions as this city is located in a big valley and once the fog settles in it’s staying for good. No helicopter ride to the glacier and dogsledding for us....

Arranged for cargo van for ten people, Dlux Rides. Delivered to Mendenhall from AJ dock to Mendenhall, admission into Mendenhall (8 with 2 National Park Passes..only $2, 2 for $12), and back to downtown Juneau ($203 total). There is a free shuttle from the Mount Robert tram station downtown to AJ dock (about 45 minutes walk). 15 minute movie at glacier visitor center, make time to watch it. I wish we had more time there. 45 hike to Nugget Falls took over an hour with time for taking pictures and we walk slow. I recommend at least two hours to have time for a hike and visitors center. There are several different hikes. I could have spent the day here. Had lunch at The Salmon Spot, 210 Admiral Way, recommended by our driver..salmon cakes $5, salmon burgers with chips $9.95, salmon chowder $5.95, soft drinks $0.95. Close to Juneau Public Library with public bathrooms. Shopping was very convenient in downtown area.

Went whale watching. Did see some whales. Funny thing is on the way out my wife was on the balcony and spied probably about 10 whales! We took pictures and videos for about 10 minutes!
