Mendenhall Glacier was beautiful. Our guide was very informative especially about being a local who lives there year round.

We had to dock a ways from the town so took a shuttle into the city. Not a problem, though. We did a whale tour and glacier tour. Fabulous! We saw several different kinds of whales, sea lions, bald eagles, and more. The glacier was phenomenal but there was only enough time to hike to the base of the glacier, or go to the visitor center. We felt a little cheated here because it was such a great stop. 1/2 and hour more would have helped. I didn't like having to choose to see the glacier or learn about it.

Town was too busy, pushy store people... pressing you to buy. Love our Mendenhall glacier tour.

I was disappointed our resrrvationist made reservations for helicopter and dogsled I paid but never got to enjoy. I booked 4 months prior to our trip...they messed it up we did NOT get to go AFTER i paid $1200. I still am a little disappointed ~ this was our 30th anniversary, I paid in advance, they almost refused to pay my money back. I was and still miffed, I think there should have been some consolation in $$ or something ~ nothing nada zip. Nope not happy with that.

Weather was awful, raining, damp and chilly. No one can predict the weather. Glacier was beautiful and the gardens were also very nice.

We went on the Whale Watching tour. Allen Marine Tours, great tour. Our Captain got us so close to the Humpback Whales! We saw Eagles and otters out there as well.

This is the port of Juneau not really the town. Same touristy shops and jewelry for sale. Hard pressed to find any places that we didn’t see at the last port.

This port was very interesting with lots of things to see and do. Enjoyed the Ben Fogle excursion which included a hike near the Mendenhall Glacier. Our guide was very knowledgeable and the walk was much more interesting and varied than the one at Icy Strait Point. The whale watch was amazing and a very memorable experience as we saw humpback whales and sea lions.
