Absolutely LOVED this city. We spent all day there. We rode the tram up Mount Roberts and ate at the restaurant there. Very friendly staff. They had the most amazing fry bread EVER. They even had a Vegan Burger! I was shocked but so happy. Sweet potato fries were heaven. We saw totem poles being carved and that was beautiful. Then we hiked for about two hours. We didn't make it all the way to the top but if you make it to the Rocky area it's absolutely breathtaking. Fall was definitely seen everywhere. Beautiful red and yellow hues in the plants. I also got bit by something that drew blood while hiking. On my ankle. It was so painful and I eventually had to rub allergy pills all over my ankle in a paste to get swelling to go down and pain to go away. Not sure what bit me but beware! The line to ride the tram back down was very very long. We were lucky that we weren't in a hurry to get back to the ship. Other people were though. Later that evening we went to the Gold Creek Salmon bake. The atmosphere was fun and the waterfall behind it was beautiful. I honestly wasn't impressed with the food. The salmon was good. Everything else was okay. We paid $60 per person for that and it was disappointing. They charged for smores which was ridiculous and they had apple cider packets instead of homemade cider. For the amount of money we spent I expected better quality but I guess we also paid for the scenery and experience. Overall, Juneau was beautiful and we loved visiting this city.

We started our day in Juneau by taking a shuttle to Mendenhall Glacier where we did a quick hike to the waterfalls and explored the visitor center. After returning we had lunch at the famous Red Dog Saloon and then walked around downtown and did some shopping. We finished our day there by taking the tour of the Alaskan Brewing Company (a quick shuttle drive from downtown) which had some really good and unique beers!

Overall, Juneau was very crowded/busy. Some shops were closed (Sunday). We enjoyed a beer at the Devil Club's Brewery, the tasting/tour at the Alaskan Brewing Co., and a short hike at the top of the Mt. Roberts Tramway.

We did Whale Wating on a mall boat with Alaska Galore Tours with Capting Ray and Naturalist Drew. It was fantastic. We saw four Humpback Whales, sea lions, and Eagles.

We did the three hour hike on a glacier after a helicopter ride to the Mendenhall Glacier. My legs were sore afterwards, but WOW! What a truly amazing experience!

We would have loved to have more time in Juneau, where the most activities and excursions were available. We did the whale watching and Mendenhall Glacier, but would have also liked to do the tram.

We did not get to see a lot of this port. We did the Mendenhall Glacier and the Whale Watch excursion. It was awesome but long, so the excursion took up most of the port time and there was no extra time to walk around and explore Juneau. That was a bummer, as we usually like to try out a local restaurant in port. The NCL excursion was awesome! We took a tour bus to the glacier, and had a terrific guide. Then we went on the whale watch, and Allen Marine took us out on the boat and were terrific guides (they have their own naturalist.) We saw lots of humpback whales...lots! We saw whales "bubble net feeding" which was awesome, and is apparently rare. I would highly recommend it.
