We loved Mendenhall Glacier even though it poured with rain the whole day. I would recommend this whether the weather was good or not. The ice floats were so blue!

Juneau is a beautiful little town. We did a helicopter ride and dog sledding on a glacier. Expensive. I am telling you this is breath taking. The sledding is not fast or exhilarating but omg what an overall experience. 150 dogs, 10 crew, a few of us cruisers and the vastness of a glacier. Must do in your lifetime.

Enjoyed this port as well. Did the whale watch. It was a misty rain and were worried we wouldnt see anything. To our surprise we saw many whales. The tour guide was very informative and was surprised himself on how many whales were out that day

We used Alaska Tales for a trip to Mendenhall Glacier and whale watching. Mendenhall wasn’t quite as spectacular as I thought it might be, but it was interesting. We had a blast whale watching. We saw several humpback whales lunge feeding. By the way, if you spend some time while you are actually on the ship looking for whales, you will see them. We saw humpbacks and orcas in the inside passage. My kiddo even saw a humpback breach. He saw something not everyone gets to see.

Loved it. We booked 8 mile bicycle ride to mendelbaum glacier. The ride was nice and the glacier was beautiful. Hiked a couple miles round trop to the glacier. There is a gigantic water fall next to the glacier , it was amazing. Many hiking trails around the glacier . One one such trail we watch a female black bear eat flowers by a small stream. There was a ranger there watching too, she said was around 1 year old. We happened to be on a wooden bridge about 12 feet from the bear. There were about 15 people watching the bear eat. The bear had no interest in the humans watching and just continued to eat her lunch of flowers.
