Juneau is a jewelry connoisseur's playground with a plethora of merchants. You can walk up to Roberts Trail, heading towards the mining museum. Passengers who did the dog sledding excursions boasted about it.

We took the tram which was a great view, not much else up at the top when you get there. We took the catamaran which picked us up at the ship to Tracy Arm and the views were great! The staff on that boat were excellent and we got to see some whales on our way to Juneau as well. By the way if you like a great local bar with character and history go to the Red Dog Saloon, walking distance to the ship as well, my friend and I had a great time there!

Loved Juneau! Do yourself a favor and go to Tracy's Crab Shack, you can get to it by a five minute walk from port. We also a few excursions including the glacial gardens tour and that was beautiful!

Extremely loved the sea plane trip to Taku Lodge. I highly recommend this excursion. It was the highlight of our cruise. When you get to the lodge, they serve you the best king salmon with freshly made coleslaw, baked beans and the best homemade herb biscuits.

It would have been nice if we docked closer to downtown, we had to take a shuttle bus and other ships were docked downtown.

Took the Glacier Gardens, Mendenhall Glacier, Salmon hatchery tour, which was by bus. The driver was knowledgeable and we had a great time.

Rode the Mt Roberts Tram and had a great time! Would suggest that you WAIT to get this at the tram ticket booth (tix are same price as ship) and I wouldn't go if you can't see the top of tram from the ship. The day we were there it was bright and sunny - and it made for a great day hiking at the top!!

Visited previously in 1995. Amazed to see the city almost double in size, primarily for tourists.

This was a rainy day but we went to Mendenhall Glacier and walked around. Scenery was, of course, stunning; and rain was not a problem.
