September 2016 - Veendam to Canada, New England, New York
This was the most disappointing of the three HA cruises I have taken. It seemed as if many of the service staff were either worn out or did not care based on a couple of problems we faced. For example, the second day of the cruise our cabin was not cleaned until we called at 5PM to ask when it would be serviced. There was no apology for the mistake nor any concern. The 5th night of the cruise we did not receive the cabin refresh including next day schedule of activities nor the breakfast menu card which we wanted in our room due to leaving early for a tour. Three mornings our toilet did not flush and received no explanation as to why this continued to happen. I felt bad about not being able to flush but had no option available. We had open seating dining and that seemed to be daunting to be seated in a window area regardless of the night, it was as if you don't have a specific seating time you are a second class citizen.
This will probably be our last HA cruise since the amount spent is not equal to the service deserved/expected.
