This was our 9th cruise with MSC and first on the Seaside. While the ship is very large most of the time we did not feel crowded so it was easy to forget that it carries 5000 passengers. We would cruise on it again.
This was our 22 cruise so we have seen a lot. We did not mind the American Table but there were some things that Carnival has changed on the menus that they need to go back to the older recipes, but of course we were able to find things to eat every night. Our main problem was our cabin, #6258, it is located over the very back of the theater and we could hear the music from there very easily so I would not recommend this cabin or any further in front. We do not gamble so
I can not tell anything about the casino. We did not find any shows in the theater that appealed to us and this has been a problem for us with Carnival for the last few years.
We did some excursions with the ship and enjoyed them all.
Overall the ship is in very good shape and can be enjoyed by everyone.
If you have booked a Fantastic or Bella they no longer have any drink coupons as they have changed to a per day drink package so unless you drink a lot it won't be worth it, as the least expensive package is $34+ per day. Also for these two bookings there is now a $3.50 + delivery fee for coffee in the morning. I did complain and was able to get three of the charges taken off since it is not anywhere on the site of on any of the paperwork in the cabin. I will be sending an email to MSC headquarters about this.
We have been many times and after finding the Mega Store that is what we do, go there. They have a good exchange rate and you can get liquor, flavors for water (.25 - .30 cents for a package that makes 2 liters) and many other things.
We got there at 5 pm so we only got off to go to Walgreen's and CVS and had a drink at a bar next to Walgreen's, which was a nice small bar that is part of the Sheraton Hotel. We have been to San Juan a few times and decided we did not find any excursions that we wanted to do.
We took the water taxi to Philipsburg and walked around town. There are a number of new shops since we were last there

we took a tour to the city of Trinidad which we found out is 5 years older than Havana and many of the building there are from the 1700's. We did short tour of Cienfuegos when we arrived back from Trinidad and the city is much newer but very nice.
We took a catamaran snorkeling excursion thru the ship and it was very good. We got to see a bunch of the island while sailing. And could easily see a bunch of damage from the hurricanes of 2017. We did not get into Philipsburg but heard that a lot of stores were not open.
Make sure to get a map or two of the layout of the ship,as soon as you get on, as it is so large. Go to as many shows as you can, I don't think you will be disappointed.
