Due to hurricanes hitting the areas the cruise changed from 5 ports to 4 ports which ended up being 3 ports. More sea days than I had planned for, but I did enjoy and it gave us time to meet several new friends on those sea days
I plan on taking this trip again and doing a different excursion but earlier in the day. I fnd that if you had any early excursion you could get off the ship earlier and spend more time in port. Otherwise you have to stay onboard due to the people to people restrictions. They called #'s for you to get off the ship. More and more lines which I hate
Charleston, South Carolina - Didn't spend any time in the city, stayed overnight in Summerville then onto the ship the next day
Bonaire, Netherlands Special Municipality - !st time in this port, liked the idea that you could get your passport stamped right at the port. I did some shopping while my husband snorkeled
Oranjestad, Aruba - We always take the bus to the beach, this time was no different. Also can get passport stamped at the port
Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island) - !st time into this port, didn't do excursion and it rained off an on
Carnival Ecstasy - The staff works very hard to keep you happy, so be mindful of how you trreat them
HAVANA, CUBA - I have to give it excellent because I've always wanted to visit. Now it has it's drawbacks, it's time consuming to get through immigration , security and money exchange. Once you get on land the people are so welcoming. We must remember we are not accustomed to some of their ways and embace it and move on. Just enjoy the the people, food , drink and culture
I think it's best to take an early excursion. We had late excursion and it rained so we got started late and some places were closed when we arrived. Our host was the best, we had alternate places to go, so got to see some places not planned on the orginal excursion
Tampa, Florida - Live not far from Tampa so go there often
Carnival Paradise - If you been on much larger ships take the time to find the special in this smaller ship. The closeness so you can meet and greet and make friends with new people. Sometimes larger ships can be so impersonal
Havana, Cuba - Wish we could have stayed in port longer there is so much to see and do. It takes a long time getting through immigration but worth the wait Will come to Cuba 🇨🇺 again
Cozumel, Mexico - Best excursion in a long time Discover Mexico start out with short ride from the port. Greeted by a video tour of Mexico then the real tour begins our guide was so knowledgeable and friendly we were fast friends before the tour was over. Never thought I could learn so much about Mexico in the timeframe of the tour. The rain ritual was amazing I'm referring all my friends that go to Cozumel to take this tour
Miami, Florida - We live in Florida but getting to Miami was a chore, we chose to drive stay before the cruise The traffic was horrendous. We booked off site parking which took forever. This was a Premier cruise for us so once onboard we had a wonderful time
Nassau, Bahamas - Whenever in Nassau by ship we head to Junkanoo beach, always make sure to get passport stamped. We had a pretty large group so everyone really went off on their own
Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic - First time to Amber Cove we stayed in the resort area while others in our group went shopping or snorkeling at Sosoua Beach was also my first time to zip line
