February 2016 - Carnival Sunshine to Caribbean - Southern
Our first time on the Sunshine. 13 night cruise to Southern Caribbean. LOVE this ship1 We had a Norovirus outbreak and I ended up sick for last two days, but I have to say, the crew did everything they could to help keep the illness from spreading. I love the fact they have alot of dining choices. You have got to try JiJis Asian reestaurant.. yum yum! The Lido deck food did not have much choices..only comfort foods, salad bar and desserts unlike the other 5 Carnival ships we have been on. Of course they had Guys, Burritos and Pizza. The main dining room food was very good as was the service. We had no issue with our cabn at all and our room steward was great! They took very good care of me while I was in the infirmary. We dd not mind the anytime dining. We got in line on deck 5 at 5:00 and they took your name and at 5:15 she handed us a paper and we walked right down to Deck 3 and never waited anytime to get seated. If you liked a table, you could request it and if you would eat early, you could get that table. We met two other couples we sat next to most nights. Loved the three level Serenity Deck. As for entertainment, we did not go to the shows..only The Punchliner Club. Another thing, they need more seating areas to sit and read, especially when they are in port. All the other ships we have been on have that outside the casino. They have an area in the Ocean Plaza, which was very nice, but something was going on like trivias, arts and crafts and games, so hard to find a time when it was quiet. Music was good in the atrium. Always enjoyed that.
We will be lookiing forward to sailing on the Sunshine again.
