August 2015 - Viking Alsvin to Europe
We were really looking forward to this cruise untill we got on board and were not given the information that would have been helpful to understand what was really going on. The water levels were low on the river which is no ones fault, but everytime we asked how it was going to work it was a spin on that they didn't really know if it was or wasn't going to happen (move from one boat to another) It was obvious when we saw the river that it was unpassable, but still nothing, like we didn't deserve to know the plan, untill the night before. We spent a lot of time on buses which was overall exhausting. and half the time the airconditioning didn't work, in 90 + degrees it is very uncomfortable. This should have been a trip of a lifetime and we have been on 3 other cruises, but it was anything but, it will definetly be our last river cruise but will still go in ocean cruises as they are much more organized. The boat was clean and the wait staff very accomodating, management was the problem. We spent too much time parked along recycling or garbage dumps to be considered luxurious.
