Have wanted to sail on the Sunshine after reading what was going to happen to her while on the Destiny. Finally got the chance after thanksgiving and I really enjoyed what they did to her. The serenity decks were really nice and the colors in the hallways were perfect. Yes there are choke points around Guys and the Cantina but this was a minor inconvenience and was made worse by people stopping and discuss what they were going to do or go. Ship needs island music as other music options were not real good. Food was fine and the design of the Lido buffet was really nice and wish the other ships would go with this design. I enjoyed all the ports and we have great weather which is 90% of the fun on a cruise. First cruise as platinum so easy on and off ship and was off ship with no hassle by 8:30 am. Had lunch at Havana Bar one day and the cuban sandwich was a nice change from the usual. Really nice ship and I would like to sail on her again.
I cruise for the islands and to watch the sea not the ship, this is small ship but except for a few irritants I had a good time. Hard to find a quiet space on the deck with shade and do not like the lifeboats above the Lido which hide the view. Kids running and horseplay in the buffet with no shirt or shoes on was not appreciated. Food to me was not as good as I have experienced on the larger Carnival ships. Had interior room on Upper deck and that was just as expected and crew were very good. Easy to get on and off and for a 5 day getaway with good weather and a good price I will do another on this class ship out of Jacksonville.
