December 2015 - 5 Night Western Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Victory
This cruise felt like a money pit. Not only was there a charge for practically EVERYTHING you might want to do on the ship, but they made no bones saying so. You win at BINGO.....but you have to pick up your money in the casino "because we know you'll spend it before you get out the door". Waiters on board were overwhelming...they just didn't want to say no when told you didn't want a drink. The best part of the entire cruise was the ports of call, but then again, you had to be back on board the boat by 2:00 pm one day and 3:00 pm the other....hardly enough time to enjoy the beach much less explore the islands. And to make matters worse, the food was horrible. On past cruises, the food was exquisite and presented perfectly, but this time, it was little more than TV dinners in the dining room, and on the buffets, it was like the chicken strips and hamburgers served at Disney or Six Flags. We booked three cabins for ourselves and our two daughters' families, and I am convinced we could have taken them to Jamaica for a fun-filled vacation on shore for half the price.
