Ships: Ruby Princess
Destinations: Caribbean - Southern
Ports: Castries, St. Lucia
It has been several years since we have cruised. Our disappointment was the food on the ship. The food was adequate and at times quite poor. Spent the week eating a lot of salads for lunch. There was one restaurant open until 1 pm but otherwise it was buffet or pizza or burgers. After eating pizza and burgers a couple of times that was more than enough for us. Yes there was sandwiches and I did have a ham & cheese but found the ham far too processed to enjoy. At 4 pm when you are looking for a snack the only option is burgers or pizza and of course room service. No fruit or veggies or say cheese & crackers nothing. Even as a midnight snack only pizza yet again. The dinner was okay some days disappointing. Overall service was great and only encountered poor service at some bars. Only drinking pop so did not feel the need to leave an additional tip but more than one occasion was ignored or just treated very unkind. As one passenger mentioned this cruise is the "Walmart" of cruises. It is inexpensive so important to always remember that. As well it is how you make the most of any situation. Never to allow this to ruin your vacation and simply make the most of it to have a wonderful time.
