Carnival Fantasy

August 2015 - Carnival Fantasy to Caribbean - Eastern

Improved Food

This cruise was an improvement over the identical cruise in June. The food was very good, had variety and presentation. The terminal in Charleston is inadequate resulting in long lines and walks for those with mobility issues. Grand Turk, the first stop, has a very large area with inter connected pools and a wave rider feature. Skip the rock bottom beach and head for the pool, just a short 2 block walk. Half Moon Cay is Tender access, but worth the wait. Don't stress, you have plenty of time here. A beautiful, clean, sugar sand beach with crystal clear water, and no surf to beat you up. Plenty of free beach chairs, use  sunscreen for sure! Nassau is fun, the Straw Market has unique shopping, with good deals if you can bargain well. This cruise is a good value for the family.

Carnival Fantasy

June 2015 - Carnival Fantasy to Caribbean - Eastern

Pro's and Con's

The cruise was a success, my granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed her first cruise. Kathy Patterson did a fine job at Cruise's Only. The ship and the ports were safe and clean. The staff and crew were all top notch in all categories. The current port terminal at Charleston had a difficult time processing the 2000 passengers aboard the Fantasy. Wish we could have boarded in Norfolk. The coral beach at Grand Turk was tough on the feet, make sure to wear beach shoes. This was a good value, just don't expect extras. Once again, it was a good cruise, and Grampa will repeat it with the grandson in a month. Happy cruising, Tom

giltom4jesus's Tips

Nafplion (Nauplion), Greece - Hired a taxi for 4 hours, 60 Euros was a good value to see the pretty mountain village of Makrinitsa. Had a lunch for 2 of Greek salad, stewed rabbit, bread, baklava, and coffee for 21 Euros. Hotel rooms for 7 Euro per night. Good shopping for a tiny music box.
Carnival Fantasy Carnival Fantasy - Arrive early and get a seat at your muster station. The drill can drag on.
Carnival Fantasy Carnival Fantasy - Drop the redundant and unnecessary from the Life Boat Drill. Spark up the Breakfast buffet.
