YVR madness

Been reading articles that say this 2017 Alaska season will be the busiest ever for Vancouver cruise terminal. God I hate that terminal. Always long lines embarking and confusion disembarking. I'm interested in hearing how long people had to stand in lines there coming or going.

Last time disembarking there workers were adamantly directing everyone into a luggage pick up area whether they needed to be there or not. I didn't need to be there and same thing for a lot of others. We had to stand in line to get out of that area in order to go stand in another line to be at the right place. After finally leaving that luggage pick up area workers were finally saying "Don't need to go in there unless picking up bags".

Same thing happened to me a year ago ... kept sending me toward luggage area ... I went up and down stairs/escalator twice for no reason under the direction of terminal staff...

Aren't you platinum now on Princess? Your trips should have counted as 2 cruises for each cruise.

Hi DVCruiser, yes Platinum next time I go. I am hoping Grand Princess in September for my next vacation. Head up to Alaska. I am ready ready ready for another Princess cruise!!!

Here's an article about the madness in YVR:

I avoid the YVR airport when I can - we had a couple of instances there where it was really disorganized, only 1 customs agent working for multiple flights etc. and it really put us off wanting to fly out of there unless we have to.

You will love the priority boarding ... runs smoothly and efficiently ... have had minimal wait in any port since...Free internet minutes are nice too!

Luckily I have not faced this problem.

Vancouver has been the worst. The last time through it was a little better. I have learned the secret to embarkation. Fly into Seattle take the Princess shuttle and be the last bus to the port. When you are the last 40 people to check in it's a breeze.
