You Favorite Cruise Line - What Makes it so Special?

most of us have a favorite cruise line.  I was wondering what makes you choose that line over all the others?

I've only been on two lines, and each had their reason for being special. Depending on what I am looking for, my "favorite" ship or line will change.

That's a very tough question for me. Right now I guess it would Holland America. I love the smaller ships and I think they have some of the best itenaries. Princess is a really close second. we enjoy them both a great deal.

For me it depends on my mood. Overall I would have to say Celebrity on a Solstice class ship. I like the quality of the ship, not crowded, modern design, professional crew, great lectures, good food, service throughout the ship, MDR, buffet, bars and cabin. I also like my perks of free cocktail party every night before dinner and free laundry. It is over all a relaxing elegant experience.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a snob, I also love a short 3 or 4 night trip on Carnival. If I want a floating party, nothing like Carnival. The in your face party fun ship. How can you not smile at the older ships with the tacky decor, the comedy club, the sing along's at the piano bar, we can not forget the people watching, Guy's Burgers, the Mongolian Walk and the Blue Iguana for taco's and best Burrito I have ever had. I Almost forgot the Corned Beef sandwiches at the Deli and the 24/7 soft serve Ice Cream.

So my favorite cruise line depends on my mood and the type of experience I'm looking for at that time.

I guess my favorite cruise line is the one I'm on at the time.

The Celebrity Reflection is our favorite cruise ever. Lots of reasons... loved the ship, decor, crew. When we had an issue in our cabin, we were treated with concern and the issue was addressed. We were still given certificates for $500 in shipboard credit on a subsequent sailing. Now that is customer service.

Good reasons for loving the Celebrity Reflection. I have sailed on three cruises on Celebrity and enjoyed all three.

i think it is fine to keep an open mind. Although my favorite is HAL, I have cruised on Carnival, Princess, NCL, RCCL, MSC, Celebrity, Costa, Cunard and others no longer in existence. My favorite is the one that I am currently on at the time, too.

i agree that the smaller ships have better itineraries. The mega ships can't get into the smaller ports. I like HAL the best. Celebrity is a close second. I have only been on one Princess cruise.

Celebrity used to give you champagne at embarkation. Do they still do that?

We we did get champagne on our last two cruises that we took last year. What a nice touch. So the answer is yes!

Then Celebrity is still my favorite cruise line.
