Worst Suggestion you ever heard about cruising?

I had read a tip somewhere about not bringing big hard sided luggage as there was very little room to store it in the cabin when unpacked ... So, I took a duffle bag on wheels type thing and several small bags. What a nightmare! Meanwhile, not only was there ample room in the cabin for luggage but more than enough room under the bed.

Have you taken a suggestion for a cruise that turned out to be a disaster?

I always store my luggage under the bed. There is plenty of room. I have seen a crane load of luggage fall into the water as the load was transferred to the ship. All the luggage was lifted out of the water dripping wet. Good thing my luggage wasn't in that load.

As for bad advice - I was told to go to the terminal when the ship tells you to arrive. The one time that I did that, I was in line for an hour in the hot sun. Now I go as early as I can when there are less people.

Carnival now is instituting staggered check-ins and getting there early for many guests will not be possible unless they do online check-in early enough.

The worst suggestion I ever heard on a cruise, was it ok to be a little late returning to the ship they will wait for you.

Worst. advice. ever.

Also, I bought a hard case luggage set. The smaller ones stack inside the larger ones and fit under the bed just fine. I use it for extra protection since I like to bring booze back.

Worst advice?

Take short cruises, you will hate the sea days......

Yea, right......

Worst advice was not to bother trying it... "go to an all-inclusive instead".

Worst advice was to try cruising...... now 20 years later and addicted Big Smile

I think whoever gave that advise just wanted to film some runners to post on youtube

More like the best advice lolWink

The worst advice was don't take a cruise. You will be bored out of your mind. 10 "boring" vacations later & I am still hooked on cruising.
