Words we might soon hear on a cruise ship

okay, which cruise line will be the first to utter the following :

attention passengers, we no longer offer 24 hour room service, nor do we have a 24 hour restaurant.  However, we do offer the following option on deck 9 aft.  Check out our new FOOD ARCADE !!! ".      " Yes folks, we are the only ship offering a wide assortment of food vending machines all in one area, just like Japan. '

Weren't those automatic food vending machines popular in the US back in the day?

As I get older, cynical, and jaded I don't doubt that your idea just might happen someday.  Look at the airlines.  When I first started we were serving everyone, including cabin passengers, free meals on trays covered with a clean white cloth.  In first class you got two trays.  First one a nice filling meal and the second one was desert.  Now everyone has to buy their meal, which is very small and bland, if there is even meal service at all.  But usually it's a tiny bag of peanuts or card board bits.  It's all about the bottom line for every company.

They'd better not. After a leaving the casino I must have a nightcap of Prosciutto pizza!

Actually, places like this are popular in Japan. Other countries have started installing them too.  Japan has Whole restaurants dedicated to vending machines.
