Wondering about the rice cooker references ?

OK, let's clear this up once and for all.   Every so often, a post includes a reference regarding a rice cooker.   Well, I am sure many of you are wondering what this is about.     It's kind of an inside joke amongst us former Funville ( Carnivals former forum ) members, but I'll let you in on it, because it was so friggin funny.

Once upon a time, someone asked the following ( paraphrased );   Would it be ok if we brought our own rice cooker to use in our cabin ?  We promise to be very careful while using it .

Now, you may be laughing, or, you may be calling bs.   Trust us, it happened.  And the snarkiness took over.  Big Smile

And we were at our best.  I wish I had saved the thread ( did anyone save it by any chance ? ).   We slammed the poster ( and none of us felt bad about it ).  Some people gave serious answers, and c/p'd  Carnivals restricted items list.  Not me of course.  I forget what I wrote.

The poster was never heard from again. We figured they went away in tears.  We also assumed they thought we were the rudest bunch of people on the face of the Earth.

So, now you know.  The next time someone says, there are no dumb questions, think about that post.   There are dumb questions.   We've seen several.

Ah, the memories of the rice cooker thread. It was absolutely hilarious!

Someone on FV saved the thread, but I can't remember who.  That thread included ideas of running extension cords to neighboring cabins if you run out of outlets, bringing fishing pole to fish off your aft balcony, charcoal grill for the balcony, and many more brilliant ideas.  I think that's the most fun I ever had on FV, except for my brief stint as sock puppet Hot Megan.

No more sock puppets for me--that was harder to keep up with without getting caught than my

I was responsible for the Hibachi grill if used on the leeward side of the ship.  Sorry. Nervous

I think Engineer Rick saved the thread

There was one person that got very upset because he was told no to his mother bringing a Spinning wheel.

OH YEAH, Cromp I was Fabio flirting with Hot Megan. HEY HG22, if you're around. Hot Mega said Fabio was a better man than you'll be.

And Cromp, I still chuckle everytime I remember your response to Fabio posting for the first time. It was classic.

I've seen lot of dumb questions and comments. Just last week one lady was irate because Carnival confiscated the hoverboards she bought as Christmas presents for her kids.

Now that is awesome!!

I saw that one too and just about choked from laughing! Can you picture the kids using the hover boards in the stateroom hallways or in the Lido area??? The mind boggles at what some people ask.

Yeah, comedians on cruise ships are still having a hayday with the topic of dumb questions.  Now that there are no more midnight buffet the question, "What time is the midnight buffet" has gratefully been put to rest permanently.

Ummmmm, refresh my memory please
