Why do people who love Carnival......

why do people who love Carnival, tell everyone else how bad all the other lines are ?

Maybe it's me, but I see a lot of posts from people who absolutely love Carnival, come onto a site, and tell everyone how bad every other line is. Phrases like, I'm going back to Carnival or I'll never sail xxxxxx again, or, we tried xxxxline, and we will never sail them again. I just don't get it. I think when Carnival lovers try a different line, they have a preconceived notion of how bad it's going to be. They tell themselves they are going to have a miserable time. Hey, not every ship is a party ship. People used to bash NCL for having so many alternate dining areas, with a charge. Guess what ? They all do that now. People, myself included, dext the nickel and dimeing on Norwegian. But it's up to me if I want to be nickel and dimed. How many times is Carnival going to change their menu ? But hey, if you want to go on vacation and eat meatloaf, fine. I prefer the NY strip in the steakhouse.

Open yourselves up, and go in with an open mind when trying something new. You'll have a better experience overall.

Very well said Cruising CM

I have cruised several lines, and am looking at more lines. Each line is special for its own reason.

The only thing that gets me down on a Carnival cruise are the vocal minority of the passengers.

For us, it's all about the money. So far, I haven't been able to beat Carnival's prices. I always price out the other lines. If I could even get close in price, we would try something different.

I believe you will understand what I'm saying when I say it's nice to be able to say that on here when you and I both know on a different site, you would be met with nasty comments.

Good point. I'm a Carnival cheerleader only because they've had the best price by far, for us. If we saw a cruise on another line that was cheaper, we'd try it out. It's so nice to be able to discuss and learn about other cruiselines on this forum.

I'll be the Carnival basher when they need it. They've nickel and dime their customers when they can all the while they've been saving dollars on fuel cost.

I like Carnival but I do not love them , I like all the ships Happy

We have only cruised Carnival but we are totally open to cruising other lines. Thus far, we haven't due to cost. CCL is the line that fits our budget best. We're still able to keep our finances in check and able to enjoy a vacation. That being said, my parents cruise CCL and have cruised Royal before and were not big fans. We certainly take their opinion into consideration because we have a similar vacationing style, but it doesn't deter us. If I'm on vacation, that's OK with me - no matter what ship I might be on.

OK, so, as usual, the number one reason people choose Carnival is cost. Fine, I get it. But then why, since Carnival is able to fill so many ships, do they, in my opinion, do such a disservice to their customers by doing away with things like mints at night, 2 room cleanings daily, ( optional, I know ). They have cut their staff to the bare bones. You know they have to be turning a huge profit. So why so many cut backs ? Look, I know the mints may be a small thing, but its principal. If people would write in their post cruise review that they miss those stupid little mints on their pillows, would Carnival listen ? Probably not. They may call them sale prices, but they might as well call them Roll Back Prices. Big Smile

Just one person's opinion. Albeit one person who has seen a lot of changes in 20+ years of cruising.

BAK, I think you've hit on the answer. Since we only started cruising in 2013, we missed the

"glory days". In a nutshell, we don't miss what we didn't experience.
