Why are some people snobs?

Why are some people snobs on a cruise, and think they are the only people on it? I have noticed that some people treat the crew with disrespect and want them to treat them like royalty. We have had table mates like this, we have went to the wind jammer. I know the crew works very hard and everyone should be thankful for all they do to make our cruise so good.

I think some people have the believe they are actually better than others. I have ran into folks that I truly believe in their minds they are stationary and the world revolves around them.

As to the question as to why people are snobs, I just can't answer. However, I do find them entertaining especially when they don't get their way. Wink

I think that it is often how they have been accustomed to being treated.  For example; the "boss" is always told he is right and therefore, expects everyone to think he is right. I agree with Bubb54, it can be fun to watch when they don't get their way.

It is rather fun to watch the temper tantrums, but I cannot help but to feel compassion for the crewmember who has to stand up to that abuse.

As far as the boss always being right, I do not follow that (sage) advice. When my boss is wrong, I will tell him he is wrong, why, and how to fix it.

Of course I have stagnated in my careerSad.

Are you trying to say my cabin steward is not my personal slave, um, I mean butler ?   What did he think the bull whip was for ?   The shipboard rodeo ?

He might have figured you and your significant other were having too much fun late nightSurprised

Unfortunately, I have seen many who believe that what you stated is factSad

They  love to complain and try to get something extra , I see it all the time

Entitlement syndrome: I'm *** level with *** cruiseline, so even though the rules don't say so, I get to cut ahead of you in line, treat the crew like servants, and generally be myself. Fortunately these folks are few and far between in our experience with Carnival. Our cruise on the Magic seemed to have a disproportionate share, but still the good far outnumbered the entitled. Generally, I find it amusing , and really don't care how they treat me, but it does get my dander up when they are condescending and rude to the staff. People who work their butts off for minimal pay shouldn't have to tolerate the entitled. There are also rude and ignorant people who are new/nearly new cruisers. Mostly, they haven't learned how to effectively pitch a fit and get what they want yet. Never fear, they will learn.

Because they're jacka $$"s?

That's also true!Sad
