Where is everyone?

I feel bad for the Bahamas. They are getting hit with the 200+ winds and it has stalled there before turning north. I am sure the cruise industry has had to make many changes to get out of the way and they will need to make a few more due to the damage I am sure.

Its a monster. One weakness they have is they really churn up deeper cooler water - cooling thethe surface. If it happens, the storm will weaken. These storms feed on warm surface water. Can only hope.

I've been watching the weather channel and news about Hurricane Dorian! So much devastation has already occurred. Hope it decides to turn back on itself and die out. Please, check in if you live in the path.

Getting ready to head to California to visit Mom and the brothers.

The most snow ive come home to (in Buffalo, NY) after a cruise was 36".

Meanwhile, when we sailed on Empress in January '18, we left in the middle of a snow storm, with 24" on the ground. when we returned 6 days later, it was 68 and sunny...This area is for the birds...

We sure do agree on that! Being in N. WI, the Caribbean in February looks really good. Last Feb. they got 40" of snow while we were on our cruise.

Thanks for the warm welcome home kids. Yes, makes me appreciate where we live even more. I can always take longer cruises, and that's fine, and we enjoy coming home anyway...but this last reminds us of why we retired here to begin with, and why we enjoy cruising so much. Need to do that once in a great while I guess.

We do live in a beautiful part of the country. But cruising in the Caribbean when it is Winter here is awesome.
