When do you pack?

Out of pure excitement, how soon do you start packing? I'm a well known over packer and over thinker so I start about a month before hand. Clothes go in and out and by the time the trip comes, I know I'm positive about my choices. I have a neighbor that starts 3 months in advance and a co worker who packs the night before. Where are you all on that time line?

Luggage scales are an irreplaceable thing for every passenger or tourist. Absolutely all worldwide carriers have their own rules for the transportation of baggage and hand luggage. Each carrier independently sets the weight of baggage, as well as the weight and dimensions of hand luggage. I read that in order to make it easier for passengers and travelers, they invented a very useful thing - hand-held electronic scales https://coolbagsclub.com/best-luggage-scale/ for weighing luggage!

We put together a "cruise" tub that we keep all the essentials - cameras, snorkeling gear, lanyards, tag holders, magnets, document holders etc. So when we do load the suitcases, no need to track things down. But probably the week that we leave is when we load up the suitcase.

We cannot pack early, my dog sees the 1st suitcase out of the closet and some items of clothing on the bed in the spare room and he goes nuts. Not because he thinks he is going with us, but because he knows that he is not and also knows that it means he is going on his vacation to my elderly neighbours.

I refill my toiletries bag as soon as I get home from any trip. I also have a bag with extra charging cords and plugs so it only needs a few things put in it the day I leave. All my cruise must needs are kept in their own packing cube. I worry more about packing my knitting projects and filling my tablet and phone with audible books and e books. I generally pack my bags either the night before or the morning of a trip.

About a week before!

Made me laugh A spreadsheet for packing..lol

Yes unfortunately that happened to us. But I love packing early. So we started hiding the suitcase in our spare room and closing that door so he wouldn’t see me packing. He used to throw up, not eat, and become very lethargic. We took him to the vet several times until we figured this out.

Yeah but takes my mind off of wondering whether I forgot something. And I never have to think about what to pack when I travel cause it’s all on the list. One less thing to worry about.

But I guess we all do things differently!

My sister has a spreadsheet and I have a list. We have been checking things off of each as we have purchased what we need and as we put aside the things we already have. Also our phone calls to each other have increased from once every couple of weeks to once a week. Last week we increased our calls to twice a week. I figure by the time we leave for our cruise we will be talking every day. But our packing will be as close to perfect as possible! I will love having this list all ready for my second cruise because it has made the planning for my first cruise (April 4, 2020 on the Sky Princess) so easy. I am so excited and cannot believe we are less than 90 days from our sailing date.
