What won’t change post Covid

You still won’t be able to bring YOUR beverage of choice, you’ll just have to do without your Mountain Dew.

Luggage will sill be measured the same way. REGARDLESS OF WHETHER ITS ON THE BED, OR STANDING ON THE FLOOR.

those little round windows STILL won’t open

People will still ask to see THEIR CABIN on line.! I still don’t know why.

Newbies will still manage to gain weight. Seasoned vets will laugh.

parents STILL won’t watch their kids.

Lastly, there will STILL BE PIER RUNNERS. Despite the new excursion rules.

oh one more thing. Those of you who know what’s coming say it with me......YOU STILL CANT BRING A RICE COOKER!!!!!!!!

In early 2020, We did a cruise to Mexico from L.A. My sister and her friend came with us. All morning, while we were waiting to board and going through all the steps, Monique and I had worked into a bit of routine. As usual the look of anticipation and expectation were apparent on our faces. My sister notice that and asked if we were ok. Once we walked through the security station and were on board, our whole being from head to toe suddenly relaxed and that is when my sister noticed that our body language and expressions were total relaxation.

Like we were home......... That's what cruising does for us. Now, about the rice cooker????

Thats EXACTLY what happens to us...getting to the port city, staying over the night b4, the zoo at the terminal...well...some folks might enjoy all that...but to us, theres entirely too much opportunity for a screw up along the way...once we actually step on board and sit down to our first meal or head for our cabin (depending on whats open) the feeling of relief is palpable...lots of smiling is all I can say...I know that for the 7-10 days i can make my mind even emptier than it normally is....

Addressed this in another thread...we watch our weight (more or less) and try to eat right (more or less) most of the year (more or less)...then we cruise (or did) a couple or 3 times a year. I don't consider it a successful cruise UNLESS we each gain 4-5 lbs..then bitch about it for months after trying to lose it......just in time for our next one...do we feel guilty??? go ahead ask me...hehehehehehehehehe

Thats exactly it. Once we clear the check-in desk, its like there's a huge weight off of me, even if I am still on my work phone/laptop until Muster(not that I get much work done) Its the knowledge that Noone from either of my jobs, or the fire department will be able to reach me past 1630hrs when I turn my phone off...

Yes!!! There is nothing like that first moment on board feeling!! I had gone on a few cruises without my family and then finally decided to take the whole family. When they finally got on board themselves, they FINALLY got the why we love cruisin so much thing. It is that feeling of total and complete relaxation!

And that weight gain thing Yankee, I am right there with you! I would not have it any other way!

One thing that will never change...the awe of seeing the ship in person for the first time!
