What Topics Should be Off Limits When Dining?

Politics and Religion top my list because too many people are "too passionate" about their views.  It generally ignites controversy and leads to indigestion.

What topics would you prefer people did not discuss at dinner?

Religion and Politics usually top the rules for us. I however, enjoy those conversations over brandy in the Cigar room.

I don't like hearing about recent surgeries or colon explorations during dinner., But I know that some doctors like to discuss their work.....

Did we not go over that in an earlier post?

"hey Kid-----can you swim?"

I think it will be a revolving topic brought up every so often.

I get a table for two when someone is with me and a table for 1 when I cruise solo. Its just how I am.

The voices inside my head carryon enough conversations without having to listen to the rest of you...

I can deal with religion, politics, firearms, and even your kids.

I do NOT want to hear what a crappy cruise you are having!Angry

Excellent point!!  And to add to that--discussing how the staff is subpar and fellow cruisers are uncivilized.  I hate when someone tries to start that conversation in any public venue.

Definitely politics and religion. I don't care to hear people go on and on about their kids or grandkids (present or otherwise) or their health issues. I avoid mentioning my healthcare background at all costs because people usually feel it means I want to hear about their health issues... I do not.
Generally speaking, I do not suffer fools gladly so pompous doesn't play well with me regardless of topic. Fortunately, hubby is a bit more tolerant.
