What's Your Packing Style?

How do you pack your suitcase - fold clothes flat, roll them or do you use packing cubes to keep similar items organized? Perhaps a combination?

I used to always fold our things flat, but now use the packing cubes and love them. They can be lifted out of the suitcase and set right into a drawer to keep everything organized and neat. I've never had any luck when I've tried the rolling style - things come out more wrinkled.

I hang all my clothes on the various dust-covered home-gym equipment in our bedroom and Amy puts it all in the suitcases. That’s normal, right? Wink

Depends on the item but before I zip it up, I will cover the items inside in a plastic bag. Something I had learned as a GI with they wanted to play war games with us and leave my duffel bag out in the weather.

A bit of both. Some are packed flat and some are rolled whichever accommodates and gets everything in.

Some things go into vacuum bags. Some get folded. Dress shirts / pants go into packing cubes.

coming home is a different story . I’m like Daffy Duck trying to get the genie back into the lamp. Big Smile

I just pull them out of the closet and lay them in the suitcase, hangers and all.

Vacuum bags sound interesting. I want to look into that.

Nice! I like that approach. I like the thought of not having to put each item on a hanger again as I unpack.

We are last minute rollers and stuffers.

I roll things super tightly. I tend to travel with just a backpack and carry-on suitcase so I have to stuff in as much as I can. This next cruise though (10 more days!) I am actually just taking one big checked bag suitcase so it might not be as much of a struggle as usual. I am on the fence about packing cubes - people swear by them but I seem to fit a lot in just rolling.
