What is your preferred class of ship?

I have only cruised with Carnival.  I have been on the Dream class, Conquest and Fantasy class as well.  For some reason I prefer the Dream class cause I like the larger ships.  Yes, there are more people but I still enjoy the layout of that class. (loved Carnival Magic).  Conquest too is nice but I dare say I wont sail on the Fantasy class.  IMHO they have seen there day.  Thanks....

The ships like the Island Princess and the Golden Princess are good for us.

The Dawn was a different trip. But we will be booking the Allure trip through the site for January 2018. That trip, the ship itself is part of the destination. We may never sail on a mega ship again, but Monique and I do agree that we have to try it once.

There is something to said for each class of Carnival Ship. The Fantasy class has fewer passengers and can be more intimate, but time has taken it's toll. The Destiny class is a bit bigger but it has few flaws in the flow of things. Perhaps that i.s why the revamp into the Sunshine. The Spirit class is a nice cross between the Destiny class and Conquest class. I really enjoy the interior Promenade deck. It is probably my favorite. The Conquest class is my DH's favorite because it has the best of everything from his viewpoint...size, ease to walk around & passenger to crew ratio. Dream class is bigger still and has a very nice Serenity area. The sports square is good for fun. I can't comment on the Vista class yet, as I have not sailed on her. I really don't care which class of ship as long as I'm on a cruise. I do find it sad when we are one one just before it goes into dry dock, because you can really see the wear and tear they suffer from all of the sailings.

Wish I could give you some insight into other cruise lines, but so far I've only been on one Princess ship and the Regal Princess was still fairly new when we sailed on her.

I am scheduled on the Carnival Fantasy this fall and have never been on it. Is it really that bad off?

Fantasy was not bad at all. I sailed on her in 2014 when she was in Charleston. To me it was a little shocking because I have only been on the larger classes prior. I did notice that the tables around the pool area were really sticky, I tried cleaning them myself to no avail. I had some kind of garbage on my elbows when I got back. Had to scrub then clean again and again. The bathrooms in the common areas were a wreck. The inside was not that bad just worn out. She did have a revamp so perhaps a lot of it has been corrected. There are still more negative reviews than positive for that class ship though. You will still have fun.

I always have fun regardless of the state of the ship, crew, service, etc. I do not let that stuff get me down. It is sad to see though. I will remember to keep my elbows off the table, LOL. As long as the drinks are cold and the food is hot, its all good! :)

It will be. That's why I said in my humble opinion.Wink

Thanks ToddRoh, when life hands you lemons.... Look for salt and tequila! LOL

My very overall favorite class of ship is the Celebrity Solstice class ship. I have had the pleasure to be on the Equinox for a 14 night Transatlantic and for a 10 night Greek Islands cruise. I have also enjoyed the Adventure of the sea for the main street promenade. Of the Carnival ships I have been on my favorite is the small Fantasy Class ships, the Inspiration being my favorite of the 3 Fantasy Class ships I have been on, My least liked ship was the NCL Star, bad lay out before they re-did her and still not great after the remodel.

I don't have enough experience cruising to even know the difference between the "classes", and couldn't tell you which class of ship we've even been on. We liked the Imagination and Ecstacy which seemed the same, and we really liked the Liberty and the Miracle. Next is our Sunshine cruise.

With RCI I have been on a few classes and most recent the Oasis class. They are super fun and I enjoy the neighborhoods. It has a "non traditional" feel which can be fun. The freedom class (Liberty) was enjoyable, reminded myself of the voyager class I started on... Who knows what class I will go on next.
