What is the nicest (kindest) thing you have witnessed happen on a cruise ship?

For all the talk about how wonderfully relaxing a cruise can be, we get caught up in and/or witness the dark side as well - the frenzy of the cruising experience.  For instance, the passenger who so cuts off or rushes past someone who was clearly ahead of him/her but walks a bit too slow for their liking. That said, there are plenty of other instances where passengers show each other kindness, patience, and compassion.

So if you will, please share your experiences where you have witnessed random acts of onboard kindness.

On Celebrity, a staff member brought a tray over to my wife, and held it while she took her food from the buffet. And when she got up for more, he was right there again.

It's funny because that took place in 2003. Twelve years later I can't think of another incident. What does that tell you about the industry?

Oh wait, in 2013, on the Breakaway, the Maitre D' recognized us from the Gem. He made sure my wife had chocolate strawberries, and that we had wine every nite at dinner. Hopefully we'll see him in August.

During life boat drill, we were mustard stationed on the pool deck on a hot day. A lady passed out, nearby passengers went to help her to make sure she did not fall out of her chair, get her some cold water and cold wet towel to put around her neck. Passengers helped until the ship doctor got there.
