What is the difference between the cabin categories for the room types?!

I don't understand what all the different cabin categories mean. I'm looking at the balcony rooms and it has 1A, 1B, 1C. What does this mean?

Thank you,

The letter code is how the company grades their cabins - A being most expensive (better location) down to F being least expensive (worse location). Note that my preferred location is an F category - a complete win for me -- the best cabin at the cheapest price!

The cabins themselves, whether A or F, or anything in between, are identical other than the location. Additionally, some of the higher rated cabins may be in inferior locations - such as above an entertainment venue. Your best bet would be to ignore the letter codes and just try to find a cabin location you think you would like, and go from there.

BDRebel is correct. I find that these codes represent forward, midship and aft for identical cabins. Midship meaning it is going to cost you more. Since we like forward best anyway, works out good for us.

Thank you!

The differentiation may also distinguish between balcony sizing for identical cabins types or you might also see a different designation for a balcony or outside cabin with obstructed views

I did not know that's what the A,B, C etc. stood for. We asked for a balcony room, I had decks that I preferred away from noisy venues above, below or beside and we are close enough to an elevator. When we're not in port I'll be out and about anyway. Been in motels that have been connecting rooms and made sure we didn't get that feature which can be noisy. Nice sea days and arrival and departures I look forward to being out on the balcony for our 9 night cruise to New England/Canada.

Thanks for the info
