What do you typically do when you first board a cruise ship???

I cruise Carnival, so I head to cabin first, then lunch on the Lido, and then take the Spa Tour, followed by Rest and Relaxation on the Lido until Sail Away.

I like most, go to the lido for lunch.  Ask what the drink specials are.  Then go to the cabin.  Change clothes and clean up and then out and about.

If we are on a ship that we can drop our carry-on luggage that is step one.  Then we head to the buffet for lunch for step two.  We like to do a self guided tour of the ship from top to bottom as step three.  About then we get a drink-of-the-day.and stay on the open decks, chat with people, checking now and again to see if our checked luggage has arrived back at the state room.  If luggage has arrived one of us unpacks his/her suitcase while the other relaxes elsewhere, when person A is finished person B may unpack as we await the required safety briefing.  Safety briefing finished we enjoy the sail-away and watch the pilot boat. .. then dinner.  If we are sailing with others we do it much the same way,  with meet ups with the the others as they board.  If there are others we usually don't unpack until after diner.

Okayyyay...lol... I totally agree with Aunt Pinkie.  That's exactly what I do but was briefHappy

I'm finding my favorite part of cruising on the first day is answering questions from first-timers. We just got FTTF on the Breeze (42 days away), so I know our cabin will be ready to drop the luggage when we arrive. That makes things much easier. We are really enthused about going to Jamaica and Cayman for the first time. Can barely wait!

send a review, I've yet to do that itinerary.  Heard good and bad about Jamaica. Not much about Cayman.  Your FTTF is good to have at Cayman because of tendering in

I know I get a bit carried away... but just wait until you meet me in person....Wink

Todd: I will add a review to my profile when I return. After this cruise we are going to do a shorter cruise to Progreso, Cozumel. We like that itinerary due to the low price from Galveston. I enjoy the ports, but we really enjoy all the things on the ship itself--spa, pools, serenity, casino, lounge, shows, music, etc. Do any of you use the drink package on Carnival?

I take a look up into the atrium and get hooked all over again Love

1-stop at cabin

2- if luggage there- unpack.

3- in no luggage-- go topside.

4- have a drink

5- explore the ship

6- have another drink

7- unpack

8- eat

9- drink

10 sail away....

Priority boarding so, I'm heading to Lido deck before it gets hand picked over, the purses desk for my on board account, over to the Excursions desk for the behind the fun tour and to my cabin to unpack and meet the steward. After all that, it's top side to watch the cast off, then to the muster drill as the land drops below the horizon. Now I can say as I exhale, I'm on my cruise.
