What Do You Think About Robot Bartenders?

Do you like the idea of having a robot mix your drink for you instead of a real bartender?  I suppose that means you would get a perfect drink every time.  On the other hand your favorite bartender wouldn't be giving you a free drink or a stronger drink..

I wounder if Beer and wine will next be sold in vending machines, like an old "Auto Mat" on ships. How will the Robot know to cut off a passenger if they are to drunk ? I can see a drunk getting cut off by human bartender and then going to the robots for more drinks.

To JustMe.... now that's a scary though.... include in your concern a teenanger with their dad's card....

I think having a robot bartender would be a bad thing if your into socializing with your bartender. Sometimes talking to them and learning a little from them is a part of the joy of sitting at the bar.

Numerous ships have automated wine and beer dispensers. Just swipe your card and fill your glass. Some people think it’s more convenient or quicker. It was fairly entertaining watching someone who didn’t know how to use a beer tap end up with a glass full of foam…

Are the dink prices poured by a robot bartender on par with those poured by a living carbon based life form?

Thanks everyone for joining the discussion.

Cruisers are passionate about their drinks, and who (or what) pours them. :-D

Don't really think much about this trend. Primarily, it cheats a person our of a job... especially a position in which someone with a personality also entertains while s/he serves. A person like that is invaluable to the cruise line because they really contribute to the vacation atmosphere of a ship.

Robo-Carpet cleaner/vacuum = good thing.
Robo-Barkeep = bad thing.

I haven't encountered any robot bartenders. I have seen wine dispensers on the Breakaway. You just slide your S&S card and voila.....The cruise lines seem to be doing away with poker dealers. And some roulette & blackjack games are electronic as well.
