What do you do.......?

when you only have one week to go before your cruise ?

Do you keep checking your luggage ?   Are you useless at work ?  Can you sleep the night before ?    How many times do you go over your documents to make sure everything is in order ?

Wow – so different!  Don’t sleep the night before but that’s because we’ll be busy packing, so double checking luggage will never happen.  We decided a long time ago that we work so we can travel, so being useless at work isn't really an option.  And we LOVE to travel so we have to work even more to support that habit.  Sixteen to twenty hours a day, seven days a week is normal – especially for a couple weeks right before or after a big trip!  For docs, yeah we do all the pre-registration and print everything out, but the bottom line is passports and a credit card – as long as we've got those we’ll be fine!

I used to tell my partner, in the days before a cruise, I wouldn't even go up a ladder.  No way, no how.  We'd laugh, and then when he was getting ready to travel, he'd be the ground man.

I start packing a few things each day , the day before the cruise I am all packed and ready to go

Monique does it.... She is better t it than me and she now knows what to bring so we can bring more stuff back.

I'm half way packed with hanging clothes separated ready to be packed the night before departure.

I have documents in triplicate, one for each bag and my pass port is my back pack. My back pack, don't leave home with out it.

Lol.  Ctav is pulling up old posts

First time cruiser here...I was packed a month ahead of time. Then I got sucked into the gazillion suggested packing lists online and bought more stuff. Some docs are printed but not all. But part of my eagerness is excitement for my first cruise, part is anxiety that I might forget important stuff, and part is that I will be working quite a bit leading up to the cruise and won’t have time for last minute changes.

For my 3 night cruise, all my stuff fits into a medium suitcase and a lightweight backpack, including drinks I’m bringing (coffee, not alcohol). Not bad for a newbie, I think.

Yup, and it’s good to have a laugh with these threads.

We don’t leave for a month and already I have summer clothes set aside. I don’t check the luggage after it’s packed because I check everything off my list as it goes in the suitcases. Sleep the night before? No way! I sleep on the plane since it takes 10-12 hrs to get to Florida from home.  I can’t count the number of times I check the travel documents - copy in my carryon, one in the suitcase, and a copy of everything on my phone, plus the original email confirmations saved on my phone and tablet. I’m just a tad OCD. LOL
