Now THAT is epic...gotta be a screw-up somewhere in the "process"....unless the thing has mutated, in which case all bets are off...anyone read that old thing "ANDROMEDA STRAIN"??? Wheres Crichton when we need him? oops....he daid....

Oh, my!!!! Makes you wonder where the glitch was. Probably, false negatives in the first place.

I sure hope it was a glitch!

Coz if not.. like Yankee said.. All bets are off. Nervous

The new look cruise world will continue to unfold and what it will look like will take some time yet

Can't say I find this bit of news from Princess encouraging!!!

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Due to the continued progression of COVID-19 and related decisions of various government, health authorities, and airlines regarding travel restrictions, Princess Cruises is extending its pause in cruise operations impacting the following voyages:

All cruises sailing in and out of Australia on Majestic Princess, Regal Princess, Sapphire Princess, Sea Princess, and Sun Princess through October 31, 2020 All sailings in Asia, Caribbean, California Coast, Hawaii, Mexico, Panama Canal, South America & Antarctica, Japan, and Tahiti/South Pacific through December 15, 2020

"We share in our guests' disappointment in cancelling these cruises," said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises president. "We look forward to the days when we can return to travel and the happiness it brings to all who cruise."

Guests currently booked on these cancelled voyages who have paid Princess in full will have the option to receive a refundable Future Cruise Credit (FCC) equivalent to 100% of the cruise fare paid plus an additional non-refundable bonus FCC equal to 25% of the cruise fare.

For guests who have not paid in full, Princess will Double the Deposit, providing a refundable FCC for the money currently on deposit plus a matching bonus FCC that can be used on any voyage through May 1, 2022. The matching bonus FCC is non-refundable, will not exceed the base cruise fare amount of the currently booked cruise, and will have a minimum value of $100 per person.

To receive the above FCCs, no action is required by the guest or their travel advisor. Alternatively, guests can request a full refund for all monies paid on their booking through this online form. Requests must be received by August 31, 2020 or guests will be registered for the Future Cruise Credit option.

Princess will protect travel advisor commissions on bookings for cancelled cruises that were paid in full in recognition of the critical role they play in the cruise line’s business and success.

The most current information and instructions for booked guests affected by these cancellations, and more information on FCCs and refunds, can be found online at Information on Impacted & Cancelled Cruises.

Given the way things are going this is not surprising and I would expect to see others following. Hard to make plans when the playing field changes daily and no ground rules are in place. I do not think any of the cruise lines will be doing much sailing in 2020. All we can do is hope for something in 2021 if all parties can get a new game plan in place and line up the pieces in order.

I've pretty much given up on the nov cruise on NCL...don't know if I'd sail on it even if they went. and feb 22 on CCL is in doubt too..just in no hurry to cancel...BECAUSE of those rules "changes"...patience...grrrrr....

If only we had knownCrying

There have been a few domestic Oz cruises but, due to Co-Vid-19, Princess have cancelled all cruises out of Oz up to Dec 19, '21! We're booked on the Melbourne - NZ - Melbourne cruise with the Sapphire Princess leaving on Dec 21, '21 which, if it sails, will be the first international cruise out of an Australian port since March '20 (I think!)

We now have well over 12,000,000 NSW, Victorian and SA Aussie's in total shutdown because of the Delta variant. Will it sail?

Thanks for sharing. I gave a thumbs up for the receiving the information.Crying

I usually just ignore old threads that get dredged up as if by magic, .......but I stopped to read this one, probably because I started it...and lots of interesting opines in it....and then, there is THIS comment....remember, the whole threads almost a year old....the more things change, the more they remain the same....or get worse....
