If you haven't picked your cruise ship yet I'd either go with the NCL breakaway or the Epic because they do have single cabins that also have a singles private area ( its sort of like a cocktail lounge), these a great places to meet other people.
Make sure to sign up for early or late dining if you are on another cruise line, if you do the 'anytime' or 'as you wish' they will not have you seated with other people.
And just have fun! People on cruises are so nice, and it is always a great way to meet people!
I am booked for a 7 day cruise on the Epic in January, 2014. Do you solo travel?
Thanks for the advice.
That you for the response and the website to go to. I had originally picked a cruise leaving in Jan. on the Norwegian Epic, but I am not convinced that it is the right cruise for me. The website you sent me to seems a better choice for me.
I agree that the Norwegian Epic and Norwegian Breakaway studio cabins are a great concept for single travelers. I have long hated the concept of "single supplements," and it is wonderful to see Norwegian Cruise Line serving that audience.

I have cruised solo on Carnival , Holland America , Princess , RCCL, , it costs a lot to cruise solo but I think it is worth it.
When I cruise solo , I just get a inside cabin , when I cruise with a girl friend I get a balcony
Thank you for the advice. I booked a cabin however because I smoke and also want to be able to sit out on the balcony while at sea.
My next solo cruise is on the Veendam , in December
Just booked a solo cruise on the Sapphire Princess , 10-5-2013 , Pacific Coastal
