Traveling Light

The days of the cool steamer trunks are ancient history - and lugging luggage from airports to busses and even busses to embarkation sites is increasingly a real drag (not to mention prohibitively expensive). I'm nuts for formal nights - and don't mind sporting a tie during "smart casual" - but have been forced to make compromises. I travel in jeans, dressy canvass topped shoes, dress shirt and travel weight blue blazer - which, with a change of shirts and ties works for most dining options - and a tux for formal nights (more than one? bring a black tie and a white tie to change things up. For the rest? Weather allowing, shorts, Hawaiian shirts or tank tops.
