Time in ports

I have been an anti-cruise traveler all my life, but have been persuaded by a friend to try a one week in the Western Med..  I am wondering how long we will have on land when we dock.  Thank youl

That all depends on the port and weather you dock or are tendered. You can look at the cruise you are taking and the times you are in port are on your itinerary. The example I can give you is this if you are docked and the ship says they are in port 8am to 5pm. 8:30 is a good guesstimate as to when can get off the ship. All aboard will be 4:30.  Hope this helps.

No need to wonder...log into your cruiselines website, for your cruise...they always have the itinerary posted, complete with times in port...the Carib is one thing....but folks who cruise around Europe and others places, and who manage to get to spend a day or two in a given "port", can't possible "see" much of anything in the time allotted, even with "tours".....we could have spent a WEEK in Barcelona.....and don't even mention Rome or Venice...….

The itinerary will list the port times for each stop.

All I want to add is, welcome to cruising.  You are starting where a lot of cruisers hope to reach one day.  The big advantage to your cruise is you will see many places you'd like to visit and only unpack once.  When we had the opportunity to see a small section of Europe, it seemed so much of our time was spent checking in and out of hotels, packing and unpacking, etc.;  leaving little time to enjoy the area.  Relax and have fun, you may only do this once so make the best of it.

Welcome aboard the forum. My husband was anti cruising for YEARS, but finally gave in snd agreed to a 4 day cruise. He loved it and we have been cruising yearly since then.

Hi Diane! Since we don't know what cruise line, ship, or itinerary you're sailing, it's impossible to help you.
Maybe it would help to think of this as a taste of destinations you may want to spend more time at in the future.
For those of us that love cruising, the concept of being "anti-cruise" is hard to comprihend.
Give us more details of your concerns and we'll sure try to help!
