Thoughts and prayers go out to Bermuda today

Looks like Hurricain Nicole is a cat 4 and is going to/have already hit Bermuda. The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami called Nicole an "extremely dangerous" storm and urged islanders to rush preparations for its powerful rain and winds.

Heres to hoping she won't be that bad for the island.

Agree ...once again the unpredictability of these storms rears its ugly head....

I was not surprised to learn that Bermuda has very strict building codes for just such an event.

When we were there we asked about it and they are very prepared. I guess that being a small island in a BIG ocean teaches some things.

They will be in our thoughts.

Going there in May but I understand they are one of the few islands that construct things with hurricanes in mind. But still a cat 4 is nasty. I hope the weather this one well.

I know a lot of articles throw interesting facts out.. One of them was that hurricanes of this intensity passing near Bermuda are exceedingly rare. Only 12 category 3 hurricanes have tracked within 75 miles of Bermuda since 1899.

Lets hope they recover quickly!

Thoughts out to them

From some articles, it seemed like they faired the hurricane better than Haiti did with Matthew. Flooding and some severe damage, but no loss of life or severe injuries.
