Themed Cruise

Would you ever sail on a "themed" cruise.  I'm seeing more of them lately.  Just saw one for Nascar and Star Trek.

I have looked into the concept. I found a  Musical one, with the Irish group Celtic Thunder, Buy the markup on the cruise was waaay  toooooo Much....

I am also a star trek fan, but would never go on a theme cruise for that. Being on a ship at sea with maybe 50 Mr. Spocks..... I would never able to afford the bar bill.Wink Romulan ale is expensive.

Yes, I have taken them twice. Both were for Irish music concerts. The two cruises were well worth the extra entertainment cost as we had at least 3 hours of additional entertainment daily plus the ship's entertainment. Both were on MSC. We didn't get much sleep, though as some of the entertainment happened after the ship's showtimes.

We have looked into a Renaissance cruise, but ... as JohnGold says, the mark-up was too high.  Plus, my gown takes most of one suitcase, all by itself... I couldn't wear much else!  We have been on a single's cruise (not by design and we were not pre-warned).  There were over 800 singles (ages = late 20's- early 50's mostly 30's) on the ship.  It was very interesting and made me really glad I am not single. Surprised

Haven’t done one yet; not really looking to but wouldn’t rule it out.

We’ve seen some river cruises with themed sailings (wine, art, music, history) that are the same price as the regular, non-themed cruise.

Would a Cruiseline.com Member Cruise be considered a themed cruise? Wink

I have not done a full out themed cruise but last year I did one of the Carnival Concert Series cruises that had Journey do a concert on the ship. It was great.   Next year I'm booked on the Vista for a Jay Leno show on the ship.  A cruise ship show room is a nice small venue or a concert or show.

I'd like a Motown cruise.

I believe that would only qualify if a 75% majority of passengers belonged to Cruiseline.com.

So maybe we should get busier recruiting???Big SmileWinkSurprised

I wouldn't mind a theme cruise, but the ones I have checked on were on the costy side.
