The Rolling Cubing Packing Debaucle

For my last cruise of 24 days, my usual packing needed some adjustments.  Because I was flying to the port, weight was also an issue.

I used some of those clear zipper bags that bedspreads or sheets come in and rolled the clothes I put in them.  I didn't have enough fabric cubes and they tend to weigh a little more than I would like.  We wound up taking an empty sheet bag to the beach for wet stuff like water shoes.

So don't throw out those bags that sheets and quilts come in - they may come in handy!

My wife uses them for knitting projects. Good advice though.

I use the small ones the twin sheets and pillow cases come in to put small stuff in to keep them contained. I also use the ones curtains come in. I just throw the whole thing in a drawer. Also great for putting shampoo, cream rinse and shower gel, in case they leak. Big Smile

I'm too unorganized. I just throw stuff in a suitcase (hangars and all). I do make a small attempt at folding, but figure that the clothes are going to be wrinkled anyway.

Not saying that everything gets packed this way, but at least most of it does.

I do pack liquids in ziplock bags, and put glass jars/bottles in a sock to keep them from bumping each other and breaking.

I also use packing cubes and the zip plastic bags from sheets when I've run out of the cubes. Things are kept organized and can be placed right in the drawers once we get to the ship, or hotel when we are doing land vacations. The bag from a duvet I bought last spring was much too large for vacation items.
