The Price of a Cruise

Wow - I have never seen such a variance in pricing for the same cruise as I did on the recent Royal Princess Caribbean cruises.  Big group of people began discussing what they paid, what they got "free" and I was astounded at the variance.  Lots of people got a free drink package included at the same price others who bought it paid for their cruise.  One guy went down to passenger services and they credited him the drink package. Granted there can be a difference when you book or specials offered at the time of booking but again, have never seen such a variance in price on any other Princess cruise. The 4 day cruise is a huge bargain if they are trying to fill the ship! Something to watch for as an add-on if doing a 10 day....

The same thing happens if you discuss the price of flights, car purchases, price of a new home etc. Some get it cheaper, some pay more. In our housing complex, some people negotiated prices better than others or got things included like crown mouldings, where others didn't. It's just a common business practice to get special deals or not.

We pay what we feel is the right price for us, we don't worry about what others got included, and we don't discuss it with other people.

It's no one else's business what we pay for our cruise, flight or any other thing. I'm mystified as to why people are that nosey as to ask a complete stranger how much they paid.  We pay what we think is fair and try not to leave any value "on the table" that we can get added to the package.

If I am on a cruise, then the price I paid is acceptable to me. I make it a point not to discuss pricing with other passengers. Someone will end up disappointed.

Finding out that somebody else got a much better price then you is a sure way to ruin a cruise.   Once I pay what I think is a good price,  I do not talk to others about price,  why make them feel bad if I did better and why feel bad if they got a better deal ?
