I booked  3 cabins for a family vacation with Carnival Cruise Line. Carnival decided to separate our 3 cabins for dining (2 early and one late). I called both my travel agent and Carnival without getting the reservations changed. Carnival a family wants to dine together on a family vacation. You really ruined my "FUN SHIP" experience even before I stepped on the vessel.

When you get on board, go speak with the maitre' d. Quite often, he can fix problems that couldn't be fixed before sailing. Also, monitor your online registration. Someone could cancel or change their dining time preference, leaving an available spot for you.

Thank you. I know the maitre' d can usually fix the problem. I want to dot my i's and cross my t's before the cruise. I don't understand why putting my 2 daughters in our dining time is a problem for Carnival/ I asked for a table of 8 and Carnival denied my request. I just don't trust them

Depending on the ship, you may also be able to all change to My Time dining but you will have different staff every night and could have a wait for a table. Not the best option but better then separate tables and dining times.

As stated by GrndmaJo, going to the dining room first thing (actually it is usually posted which dining room and the times someone will be there in the Fun Times) and see if it can be fixed. I understand you want it before boarding, but that often doesn't work out. I am also assuming you had all of the booking number linked for dining purposes? If not, be sure you get that done. When we had a large group we were not all together at first but upon boarding we found all of us at the same table. Please double check with your TA that your booking numbers are linked.

I don’t see when your cruise is / was, but if it’s an upcoming cruise, and you really feel as though your cruise is “ruined” , then cancel it. Find a nice all inclusive somewhere and stay there.

Thank you for your reply Kergan. I wanted to cancel the cruise but my family took their vacation time already. i booked a suite for my 45th anniversary. I can't believe that Carnival treats their suite passengers this way.Come on Carnival 2 more for early dining.

I guess I don't understand why you would allow a dining time ruin your vacation before it even starts. If I learned nothing else, I learned that when cruising, you have to be willing to go with the flow. If you are someone that gets easily upset about mishaps, cruising may not be for you. Your dining experience is only a small part of the cruise. Not to mention, you are not REQUIRED to eat in the Main Dining Room as there are so many other food options on the ship.

I often cruise since I live in Florida. I never had the problems from any other cruise line. Explaining a problem and being told they can do nothing about it is upsetting. How am I going to celebrate my anniversary and a birthday at different dining times? This may not be a big deal to some people, but it is to me. I booked ALL cabins together. The cabins were crossed referenced and separated by Carnival.

I hope this all works out for you, and I am pretty sure it will. From my understanding your booking is with a travel agent. Your agent owns that booking and would be the one to make changes, it is surprising Carnival would talk to you about this. I would hound my TA to correct this before you leave but if not as others have said I would bet you get it straightened out on board. I certainly understand about dotting the I's and crossing the T's especially when it comes to family dining together. The maître d should understand this as well.


I got an E Mail from Carnival that states that my travel agent cross-referenced the bookings. The cruise line informed me that I could go to the buffet for dinner. REALLY!!!!!!!! Carnival fess up to your mistake and make it right.
